WEYMOUTH

ABOUT WEYMOUTH

Weymouth is the perfect destination all year round for either a short break or longer holiday.

The town’s golden sands and safe, shallow waters are ideal for family fun or for an early morning stroll. There are Weymouth attractions to suit all ages and during the summer months the seaside comes to life with donkey rides, Punch & Judy, merry-go-rounds and plenty of kiosks selling ice creams, candyfloss and cool drinks. In the out-of-season months the peace and tranquillity of an almost deserted beach will restore the spirit.

The delightful 17th century harbour is one of the prettiest along the south coast. The fishing fleet sits in harmony with the visiting yachts that moor alongside the harbour walls. Fresh fish can be bought from the local fishmonger, housed in a fish market that was built in 1855. And some of the town’s popular restaurants and pubs can be found amongst the historic buildings and pretty cottages that line both sides of the harbour.

The shopping centre has many of the top high street names as well as a good selection of smaller shops selling contemporary jewellery, household goods, clothing, shoes, gifts and much more.

There’s an exciting array of Weymouth events which are held throughout the year – there’s the annual carnival, seafood festival, live music events and much more besides.

There are RSPB reserves at Radipole Lake in the town centre and at nearby Lodmoor. And Portland is another favourite spot for birdwatchers as the island is used as stopping off point for a wide variety of migrating birds. Walkers can take their pick from a gentle stroll along the promenade to a hike along the South West Coast Path, which offers wonderful views along this World Heritage coastline. Sport lovers can choose from a whole range of water sports: there are bowling clubs, leisure centres, fitness suites, golf courses and boat or shore fishing. And family attractions in Weymouth offer year-round fun for all the family.

All of our accommodation is situated either on the seafront or in the town centre, and just a short walk from the train station. If you arrive by car then once you have parked everything is close to hand. Please call the office on 01305 760100 or the individual hotel to book your stay here in Weymouth.
