Welcome to ~ RIO de JANEIRO, The exotic, the glamorous, the most kaleidoscopically exciting city on earth!  Native Indians ~ African influences, Portuguese conquerors ~ well a long time ago!  Did you know, (yes you did!), the capital of Brazil was Salvador up in Bahia until 1763 moving to Rio ‘til 1960 when it moved to Brasilia, 600 miles inland. ~ enough, enough!  Keep a lookout for Pirates ~ will you be lucky and spot a member of the famous Candomblé? Take a walk under the graceful coconut palms fringing the dazzling sand of “Copacabana” Beach ~ colourful boats bobbing in the sparkling bay ~ watch the stunning sun-risings above the distant islands.  Explore our fabulous city but do not displease the Gods!  Afterwards join us for a pre-dinner “Caipirinha”, a mysterious cocktail, followed by our version of a Brazilian style dinner, a complimentary glass of wine, bingo, entertainment and also Cabaret direct from the “Iguassū Falls Hotel” featuring all the Marias from Bahia! !  Will it never end?  The fun just goes on and on! !  Be there – don’t miss it !  Warning!  Leave the malaguetas alone whatever you do.  No lads, not the local girls but exceedingly hot red peppers)! ! Ah well...

SHANGHAI ~ the Paris of the East.Land of firecrackers, the great wall, lotus seeds and bullsblood porcelain.  After breakfast (anyone for birdsnest soup?  I thought not!) Disembark and explore, perhaps visit the great city of Dorkinsai just over the Hwang Ho (Yellow River of course).  After returning to the S.S. Crown start the evening with a Kaoliang cocktail, followed by a special dinner, complimentary wine, bingo, full entertainment program featuring, at great expense, Kubla Khan! The Warrior of the Keyboards! Join the non-themed fancy dress competition (prizes).  Confucius say if not raining must be dry!  What a paradise ! what a night ! Watch out for the drunken chicken!  Get in the mood – coloured dresses for the ladies – your brightest shirts gentlemen please!  Kan-pei (bottoms up – cheers!)!

Cádiz, capital of Andalusia ~ home to the Armada ~ land of shattering contrasts ~ blistering hot summers ~ brilliant light bouncing off dazzling white walls.  Seafood, rice, olive oil, fruit . . . .  If you are in town today will you hear the piercing, deep, guttural wail of the flamenco singer?  Will you sip a glass of cold manzanilla at the Casa Victore (New Vic) overlooking the Bay of Cádiz listening to the water sounding on the sand.  Will you see a Bailadora? You may be lucky!  Who can tell?  Explore the great shopping precinct in Calle Sierpes (Bond Street to you and me ~ where else?)  Treat yourself to some Gazpacho (if you can find some!), visit Las Marismas & the Coto Doñana game reserve (Lodmore) before returning to your liner for a cream tea (to remind you of home), join the crew for an aperitif, followed by a flamboyant dinner, complimentary glass of wine, bingo, the famous band, Los Vascongadas, entertain to 11.30pm.  Treat yourself to a quiet drink in the bar, sit back and think of the Virgin of El Rocio – Who? !  Was someone singing a Cante Jondo?..m..m..m..m.. ! !  Wondered what the noise was! !
